Objective: Provide professors a seamless way to cancel, delay and take attendance.

Current “Solutions”:

Cancel + Delay Class: The professor asks their TA to notify the class. The professor would email the specific lecture; this is a multi-step process with plenty of margin for human + system error.

Attendance: The teacher might require the use of a “clicker.” The student might use a clicker for one class the entire semester. The professor may choose to take attendance by hand; using either a standard attendance booklet or asking the students to write their name on a piece of paper and pass it to the front of the class. The professor may consider not to take attendance.

SchoolBell Solutions

Cancel + Delay Class: The app allows a professor the ability to cancel or delay class in just three taps.

Attendance: The attendance feature allows educators to keep accurate accounts of the actual number of students in each class. This feature uses the geolocation of each building, where the class occurs. The professor also provides a password at the beginning or end of class keeping in mind those students who come to the building just to get attendance credit without actually attending the class. If the student must be in the building for the geolocation to register and needs a password from the professor; they might as well go to class instead of being in the building then relying on a friend to message you the password.

Analytics: This feature allows professors to have accurate data for average class attendance, most canceled and delayed classes and total time of course delays, just to name a few data points.
